INCHY CHALLENGE 02 - BUTTERFLIES

Another chance to play along with an Inchy challenge.  This one will run until 1st August.

The theme for the challenge is Butterflies. I've seen lots of them on the internet and on Pinterest but very few out in the garden - the rainy weather isn't helping them I'm sure.

Use any products you like - as long as the base size is 1" square.

I've used one of the butterflies from Stampin' Up!'s Papillon Potpourri set, punched out with the co-ordinating punch.

Link yours below and have fun!

Here's Karen's entry - check out her wonderful blog here

Here's Sallys entry- you'll find her blog here

WELL, HELLO THERE - LET'S PLAY

Well hello there Bloggers.  Is there any body out there?

Its been 6 years since I closed this blog!  SIX YEARS = gets back up off the floor.

I stopped crafting for a long while but have found my way back and am enjoying the ink, papers, scissors, punches etc etc and the creativity that crafting brings.

So.... I found that my little inchy blog is still here and wondered whether I would be able to start it up again.

It seems blogging itself has changed a lot in the last six years - then when we blogged we commented a lot on each other's producs.  Now people seem to stop by but not comment as much - I think FB has  taken over the social side of blogging.  But I love to come on to my blog and find a comment.  Its through my Inchy Blog that I met my dear friend Karen, we met up and have become firm friends.  Had we not commented on each other's blogs that would never have happened.

So, first things first  I'm going to see if this gets picked up in blogland, see if there are any comments and see if anyone wants to start making little inchies again.

WHAT IS AN INCHY?

For those of you who may never have made inchies before they are 1" square works of art.  The challenge with them is to try and get across the theme on such a small piece of paper.  This week there is no theme so it's free rein but the only rules are they must be square.

There are also Rinchies, which are round, and Twinches which are 2" square and occasionally I will be adding these to the mix but generally we work with an Inchy.

To get you started I'm doing a nice easy challenge and, if we get any players, there will be a small prize for the winner.

So for my first challenge - I want to see you use an inchy or two on a card.  There - Simple!

I've used Serene Silhouettes from Stampin' Up! on my card which is retiring in a few days time.  As I'm now a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator you may see me use a lot of their products but no hard sell.  You are free to use any products you like on my blog!

The challenge will run until 6th June..  After that, new challenges will  be set every Monday.

Add your Inchy to the Mr Linky thing below.

Happy Crafting and I hope to see you joining in!

SO LONG, FAREWELL, AUF WIEDERSEHEN.....

ADIEU.

Thank you for playing along with the inchy blog over the last few years. Its been a pleasure doing the blog and I hope you continue with your inchies.

I'm starting a personal challenge blog to myself in the New Year - going from inchies to 12 x 12 - I'm going to get back into my scrapbooking and am working my way through 52 More Scrapbooking Challenges by Elizabeth Kratchner and going to blog my progress. If you're into scrapbooking - pop along and visit from time to time. You'll find the link on my magickdiva blog once I've decided what to call it!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Peaceful and Creative New Year.

One last thing - the name out of the hat for our little inchy Christmas present was

JOANNA

If you can let me have your address Joanna - I'll pop it in the post - probably after Christmas.

Bye Inchy lovers!!!

FINAL INCHY AND I'VE GOT THE BLUES.....

I'm putting this up early tonight as my hubby is coming home after two weeks away and I could have other things on my mind tomorrow! lol!

Thanks to Karen (MissyK) for the idea of doing a colour for our last challenge and there could be no other colour to choose than Blue! My lady kind of looks sad in this, don't you think?

As a child growing up my mum always used to play Jim Reeves Christmas Album and a few years ago I bought myself a copy on CD and its always one of my favourites to play at this time of year - moreso as this is my first Christmas without my mum. So as you can see the colour Blue is a good one for me at the moment. I've been trying to download the music on to here but without any success.

Looking forward to seeing all your BLUE inchies for our last week.

You should all have received your tags by now - apart from Emma who is in Australia - guess which one was hers! lol! What a beautiful and varied selection they were. Thank you for joining in with our last ever swap.
Keep an eye on this blog for a while though as some of the girls are thinking of continuing an inch blog - if they do I'll put the link up on here so you can carry on playing along.

GOING FOR A ......SONG

I had the chance to see the fabulous Beverley Craven in concert on Saturday in Winchester - she is one of my favourite female singer/songwriters and doesn't get enough credit in my opinion. My word for this week - as a tribute to Beverley, is SONG.

Here's mine - the Robin is a favourite bird of mine and his birdsong one of the prettiest tunes - we have a pair in our garden who are always vying for territory but the garden is plenty big enough for both of them - this bird is taken from a Stampin Up stamp and looks very robin like - the sheet music is from an old piece of music of Ave Maria from Verdi's Othello - Desdemona's song which is where the wording 'Song' also came from.

In the words of George Michael! lol! Your faith could be a religion or it could be whatever you have faith in, (chocolate for example lol) as its Remembrance Weekend here in the UK I considered this an apt word for this week's challenge:

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS

Sorry I'm a bit late today - my daughter came home unexpectedly from Uni this weekend - she was in need of some TLC so my word for this week is HOME. Home is where the heart is is my inchy example:

THE FUTURE

A difficult day today in our household as my husband has just been made redundant from a company he started some years ago - so our future is unsure.
My scanner wouldn't work so had to take a picture of my inchy:

THE PAST

I find myself harping back to the past at the moment when my children were little - all triggered I think by my daughter going off to Uni - I can't believe its 30 years ago since I was there. So my word for you today is THE PAST.

Here's mine: the image is a stamp from Stampin Up and the words came from a museum ticket! If you look closely you can see my inchy from last week peeping out from behind - it must be stuck on the inside of the scanner! lol!

DEVOTION

Sorry no sampler this week as I'm feeling poorly with yet another cold!

I did manage to do us a word for this week though and here it is....DEVOTION

Looking forward to seeing all your entries and what you do with it - we had a great assortment last week.

Here's mine to get you going: A little bit of a cheat from me this week as this inchy was in my stash from a swap I did a few years back with no name on it so I can't credit the crafter - I just added the word devotion and some bling.

Monday, 27 September 2010

THIS WEEK'S WORD IS......

SEPARATION - well it couldn't be anything else with my daughter having gone away to Uni.

Hope you don't find this one too tricky.

Here's mine:

All stamps used are Stampin Up!

SORRY I'M LATE....

with today's new word as I've been away all weekend taking my daughter to Uni - very emotional - and I have to have a filling today so will try and get it up by this evening......
lets hope its worth waiting for........
